Dogs whose pet parents know CPR have a greater chance of surviving a medical emergency.
Due to the current lack of emergency care on the Peninsula, Sonny’s Pet Care Services now offers PetTech CPR & First Aid classes, taught by Mary Kniskern, certified PetTech instructor. You will learn protocols in CPR, rescue breathing, choking, bleeding, snout-to-tail assessments and more. These skills can help you with anything from minor issues to stabilizing your pets for transport to the emergency vet. This is not meant to replace veterinary care, rather, it is helpful tools for pet parents in this community.
These classes will be valuable in helping to deal with your pet’s minor injuries. Even more importantly, in an emergency, you can learn to stabilize your pets for travel to the Animal ER. These skills can help you save your pet’s life. We also provide good information on how to assess your dog’s condition while trying to contact your Vet for minor illness and injuries.
